Dr. Juli Buchanan began her career in psychology helping people experiencing emotional pain related to their struggle with food, eating, and their feelings about living in a larger body. She has been trained in all four of the evidence-based approaches for helping people with these struggles (Mindfulness-Based Therapy for Binge Eating, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy), which allows her to work collaboratively with clients to build a treatment plan that is individually tailored and flexibly incorporates evidence-based interventions across paradigms to support people who seek to change their relationship with food, eating, and their bodies.  Dr. Buchanan does some of her best work with people who have tried every diet, fad and otherwise, and feel frustrated, desperate, and/or hopeless about their ongoing struggle.  She knows the pain of individuals suffering with damaged esteem related to body image, and she understands how these struggles can impact all aspects of people’s lives.
